Buildings and Grounds Director & Assistant The two-person board position consisting of a lead and assistant is responsible for the maintenance of the buildings and grounds of Wheeler Pool. More specifically, throughout the year, they are responsible for the main pump building, storage buildings, guard shack, fence and grounds within the property line. Other responsibilities include leading the work duty assigned team(s) for opening and closing of the pool's property, working with the operations team to pass town of Acton pool inspections, and ensuring that the buildings and grounds are maintained in a safe and clean condition for use.

Membership Coordinator - Responsible for updating, managing, organizing and completing all membership forms. Responsible for assigning and overseeing the completion of the work duty activities of the pool.  

Operations Director & Assistant - Membership fee is waived for these positions. They will work with a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) to schedule and oversee season opening/closing, weekly maintenance, and necessary closing of both the main and baby pool. Weekly maintenance includes on-site daily testing. They will train staff on water testing and responsibilities regarding water quality.  They will ensure the chemical shed contains supplies (obtained from CPO) for all regularly scheduled water treatment. Both the director and the assistant operator will split the daily pool checks between each other throughout the summer. This includes chemical balance procedures and maintenance issues under the surface of the water (including Vacuum).

Personnel Director - Responsible for recruiting and hiring lifeguards and the teaching/coaching staff for the pool season. The Personnel Director organizes and leads a staff orientation with fellow Wheeler Board members. They work closely with the Head Guard to ensure monthly staff schedules are created based on the pool calendar/hours and staff contracts. During the swim season, the Personnel Director (in conjunction with the Head Lifeguard) oversees the lifeguards, ensuring that the protocol outlined in the Staff Manual is adhered to in order to keep swimmers safe.

President - The President leads the annual meeting in late Fall and each monthly meeting from there, ensuring that Trustees understand their duties and responsibilities, keeping tasks on track and helping to problem solve. The President needs to keep a calm, fair viewpoint to address issues that may arise such as pool closings, answering questions, clarifying rules, managing complaints, resolving disagreements, diffusing neighborhood politics and mediating differing viewpoints. The President is the primary interface for issues and communications with the pool membership.  The President is responsible for writing and distributing 2-3 newsletters and a welcome letter. At the start of each year it is the President who sets the pool calendar. At the end of each season it is the President's responsibility to make sure all Duty of trustee positions are filled for the next pool season.

Secretary/Clerk -  Maintain and update Trustee documents on Google Drive and have a working knowledge of Wheeler Rec. bylaws and the issues at hand to ensure compliance, continuity, and inform Board discussions. Organize and attend monthly Board Meetings and the Wheeler Rec. Annual Meeting and maintain and distribute meeting minutes.  Work in partnership with the Membership Coordinator to execute annual membership mailing. Establish and maintain the Duty Trustee schedule and participate in Board activities as required. Prepare and submit the annual state report. Much of the work can be done from home and requires a computer and ability to use email, Google Drive suite, and other related apps and programs.

Swim Programs Coordinator - Responsible for organizing and managing summer swim lessons and swim team, which typically run from the end of June through the end of July. An orientation for swim instructors/coaches is held prior to the start of the swim program to discuss expectations and requirements. The coordinator oversees the swim program to ensure it is running as expected by the American Red Cross standards and manage any issues that may arise. 

Treasurer - Responsible for all aspects of the finances of the pool. This includes, taxes, W4/W2 forms and direct deposit for employees, overseeing and compensating for pool expenses and most importantly overseeing the working budget of the pool.
